BOLT and LIVE

The design concept is the detection of transient electric charge in cloud by means of interferometry.
From this aspect we call them "Thunderstorm tracking systems." That is why these systems may estimate the lightning occurrence (both cloud to cloud and/or cloud to ground flashes) in about hopefully 20 minutes in advance. Twenty minutes is normally enough to evacuate. Practically the evacuation may possible without this system, but BOLT and LIVE can declare "No threatening anymore, that means declairation of termination of thunderstorm activity" and people may go back to outside to restart their jobs. In the real situation these days for example, once workers evacuate from airport ground, they have nothing to do and wasting time. But if they operate BOLT/LIVE the airport may save a large amount of wasting money. Listening thunder or using existing system cannot do this.
Additionally a kind of Zoning alarming is possible. Thunder may be heard here and there. If you think about BOLT/LIVE are the systems to detect transient electric charge inside the cloud, these system can predict the possible occurrence hail, micro burst, heavy precipitation and Tornado. These are too scientific to explain in this blogl, but the data fusion with BOLT/LIVE and RADAR enables us the best operation of the airport during thunderstorms. I am quite sure BOLT and LIVE are the first systems which may capture transient electric charges in clouds in 3D and in real time.
